The Outdoor arena was originally built for "on the rail" shows, the Middle Tennessee Mustang Association had many seasons of shows in it. Five years ago it was converted to a dressage arena, initially housed a small arena (20x40m) inside, but in 2004 we increased it to a large arena. Even though the size is 4 meters shorter than a standard arena (20-56m), you hardly notice it!
The footing was done over a year with 4 inches of 5/12-dust bluestone topped after compaction by 4 inches of manufactured sand mixed with rubber. It drains very well and it is possible to ride even after a moderate rain. The arena has a 2% grade which is hardly noticeable but allows for good drainage.
The arena has lights which allows to ride late at night, specially during the summer.
